110V Accessory Pack (Pack 1)
This pack has been put together to provide you with the accessories and adaptors you need to start 110V PAT testing. Obviously you need a PAT tester as well - but don't worry we can help you there. You also need some common sense. Unfortunately we don't sell that - yet.
2 x Rolls of Strong PASS Labels
1 x Roll of Strong FAIL Labels
1 x Roll of Cable Wrap PASS Labels
110V Adaptor Lead Set which in turn, includes;
Lead PTA2 - Adaptor for testing 110V extension leads.
If your PAT Tester already has a dedicated 16A 110V socket (the yellow one!) then this adaptor will allow you to test 110V extension leads - in the same way as you test 230V extensions with a short IEC cable.
Lead PTA3 - This adaptor is for testing 110V appliances with PAT Testers that do not have a dedicated 110V socket.
- Kewtech KT71
- Seaward Primetest Range
- Older Seaward PAT Testers without 110V Socket
- Seaward Europa
- PATCH Tester
- Fluke 6200 and 6500
And any other PAT Tester without a 110V socket.
Lead PTA4 - This special adaptor is required if you want to plug your Portable Appliance Tester INTO a 110V supply.
All mains powered PAT testers come with a 230V plug, which is normally plugged into a 230V supply socket. However, if you are testing lots of 110V appliances, it makes more sense for the PAT Tester itself to run on a 110V supply. Let's face it, if you're on a construction site, you probably won't be able to find any 230V mains! This adaptor lead will allow you to plug a PAT Tester into a 110V supply.
This is ideal for:-
Megger PAT320 and PAT350
Seaward PAT Testers which can run on a 110V supply - eg Supernova and Supernova+
We wire these in-house, and use the recommended wiring method which allows the adaptor to be used for PAT Testing, but will not allow a 110V appliance to be accidentally powered by a 230V supply if it is plugged into the mains, or if a run test or earth leakage test were to be carried out by the tester. Some suppliers wire these adaptors 'direct' which is very dangerous!
If your PAT tester carries out any kind of 'fuse test' or continuity test it will always fail this test (due the appliance appearing to be switched off.) You can safely ignore this condition and proceed with the earth bond and insulation tests in the normal way.
Please note that these adaptors are for PAT Testing ONLY!
